A recent trip to my parents has proved fairly successful! My first half decent lightning shots and a vaguely interesting lowering... Firstly the lightning. Taken with almost no skill through a hotel window in Barcelona. The storm was behind the other buildings for a while but came a little nearer. As luck would have it my shutter was open for at least three of the strikes! The first one on the left shows the bolt in triplicate due to the double glazing, not much I could do about that. It also has the curtain in the top left but I didn't want to crop. |

Second bolt I caught, not as impressive but not bad!

And the last one, my favourite of the the whole bunch
I got. Still a reflected channel down the middle but I reckon it can be
ignored. The storm died off fairly shortly after this last one.

This was next day on the train from Barcelona southwards
down the west coast. There was a large and organised thunderstorm out
at sea, and off the back end a wall cloud dropped straight down to the
sea. Seeing as we were on a train, it was rare that I had a clear and
uninterrupted view, let alone be able to get any photo's so I'm glad I
got these at least! This one shows what I believe to be a wall cloud.

This one shows what I believe to be a tornadic waterspout,
though of course I cannot confirm that and the picture doesn't provide
much more info. Maybe it's just scud, an inflow band, or even rain. Wish
I was on that ship!

This picture shows the storm as a whole, the area I
was looking at is the gap at the bottom where outflow becomes inflow.
An impressive looking storm regardless.

And finally one to show it had all finished, the whole
process lasted a couple of minutes, albeit a very frustrating couple of
minutes!
